Peter Dutton’s Trump Moment: Preferencing Pauline Hanson and One Nation

Peter Dutton has just done what no Liberal leader before him dared to do: he's given Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Party first preference on Liberal 'how to vote' cards. And he's done it for over 90% of them.
This tells us everything we need to know about where Peter Dutton and the Liberals want to take Australia.
Let’s be clear about who One Nation is.
The party whose leader said Australia was being "swamped by Asians" and later, "swamped by Muslims."
The party whose leader wore a burka into Parliament ridiculing Muslim Australians.
The party that said children with disabilities should be removed from classrooms.
The party that dismissed Indigenous culture as "too much" at the Commonwealth Games and has opposed every form of truth-telling and recognition.
The party that fuels climate denial, race-baiting, and division as its bread and butter.
Even John Howard and Scott Morrison - hardly progressive icons - refused to preference One Nation. They understood it was a line not to cross. But Peter Dutton just did it.
This is Trumpism. Plain and simple. Not in style - but in substance. Elevating far-right rhetoric. Legitimising hate for political gain. Trading integrity for preference flows.
And let’s not forget - Pauline Hanson isn’t just another candidate. She’s a political figure who has built her career on division, scapegoating, and misinformation. Giving her preferences is giving her power. And Dutton knows it.
Luckily as voters, we get to decide what kind of country we want to be. One driven by fear and division - or one grounded in respect, decency, and truth. This election more than ever, we must vote with our eyes open. Vote with our values. And make sure that Trumpism doesn’t take root in Australia. Because what we legitimise now will define us later.
Please watch and share this video I made. And I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments section too.
Hopefully this will help to sink the Liberal campaign for good. They shouldn't be coming even anywhere close to victory. People have short memories indeed.
He is a nut case.
A pact with the devil that demonstrates that Dutton’s only objective is to get onto power and sensible policies, climate or otherwise are not a concern. Expediency rules the day.
